Here are some thinking points as you evaluate the organization of your curriculum:
·To what degree does the curriculum use its organization as a means to achieve something within the school (its culture, organization, etc.).Does it have the potential to affect the nature of schooling when implemented? For example, can it build community within the school?
·How would you rate the degree to which the organization of the curriculum supports continuity, sequence, and integration?
·What elements are organizing factors within the curriculum (skills, essential questions, concepts, etc.).To what degree is this effective (does it help achieve the aims and goals of the curriculum and/or school)?
·Are their principles that help to weave together the organizing elements (themes, etc. such as progress within society and the role of technology in social progress – themes in the Lab School)? If they do not exist, what are the implications? If they do exist, how effective are they?
·Describe the overall structure of the curriculum. How does this structure fit with your school or district in terms of effective implementation?
